ABOUT US

Energy
in circulation
rom the land,
for the land

We believe in natural elements returning to their source. Inexhaustibly, in a virtuous circle that returns value and nourishes the land and territory that produced them. We see sustainability as a process that stimulates community progress and protects our health and the environment. It is a value to be cultivated in order to meet the challenges of climate change, resource scarcity, and land degradation.

This is
how we close
the circle

In Enomondo plants we give back new energy. Nothing is ever lost; everything is a resource. We process and recycle scraps from the agri-food chain, as well as cuttings and prunings from the maintenance of green areas and the Romagna area. We then transform them into electrical and thermal energy and natural fertilisers. We work in search of a fruitful synthesis between agriculture and industry, nature and technology, past and future, ecology and energy.

A challenge in the field
of sustainability

Enomondo is the result of a partnership between two major companies in Emilia-Romagna, Hera and Caviro. Through their respective scrap recovery, recycling and valorisation businesses, such as Herambiente and Caviro Extra, these two companies possess considerable expertise in the production of renewable energy and natural fertilisers.

Caviro supplies scraps and by-products from the wine and food industries in general, while Hera contributes cuttings and prunings from public and private green areas collected in the local area.

As a result, Enomondo is able to produce electrical and thermal energy mainly from renewable energy sources, as well as soil improvers for agriculture that are rich in organic matter and nutrients. This has enabled the company to develop a business that combines production needs with the responsible use of natural and finite resources.

Caviro Extra drives innovation in the research and development of high-quality ingredients and high value-added products derived from the valorisation of scraps from the Italian agri-food chain.
Caviro Extra, which was created from Caviro Sca, the largest winery in Italy and the leading company in terms of volume of wine produced in our country, receives more than 100.000 tonnes of marc and lees from the wine industry every year. It transforms them into ingredients and products with high added value for the food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and chemical industries, as well as into sustainable energy sources such as biomethane and bioethanol.

Caviro Extra and Enomondo:
how to valorise
scraps

Caviro Extra and Enomondo synergistically process and recycle more than 600.000 tonnes of scraps every year from the wine and agri-food chains, as well as from public and private green areas.
The ash resulting from the combustion process is almost entirely used in the production of cement mixes and road sub-bases. Only a small percentage (0.1%) becomes unrecoverable waste.

Herambiente

Herambiente was established in 2009 with the aim of concentrating the Hera Group’s exclusive expertise and extensive range of waste treatment equipment in a single company capable of taking full advantage of the opportunities for development in the domestic market. It organises and manages all the operational and commercial activities of the waste treatment facilities and provides companies with customised environmental services with a focus on environmental sustainability. Herambiente supplies Enomondo’s plants with cuttings and prunings from public green areas.
